Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) Leadership and Stakeholder Meeting - Audit of Preparedness for Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
In line with the Statement of Commitment (SOC) signed in 2016 between the IDI and SAI Bhutan, IDI team provided onsite support in conducting the pilot ISSAI based compliance and performance audits. Onsite support meeting was held from 2 - 5 May 2017 in Thimphu, Bhutan.
Three audit teams from Iraq, Sudan and Palestine are being supported by IDI to conduct ISSAI based Pilot Financial Audits.
As part of the 3i IDI/ARABOSAI ISSAI based pilot Compliance Audits of procurement programme, 8 audit teams conducted ISSAI based Compliance Audit engagements in their respective countries.
The IDI has put together a team of resource persons to review and update the IDI Performance Audit Handbook.

How can we ensure the most challenged SAIs enhance their performance? This has been the starting point for the development of IDI’s new bilateral policy. While a large majority of SAIs in developing countries successfully participate in the regional and global IDI programmes, a substantial number of SAIs require more extensive support to sustainably develop their capacity and performance
Greater audit impact through stakeholder engagement
A week long meeting on development of Financial Audit Quality Assurance Product was held in Quezon City, Manila from 6-10 March 2017. The expected outputs of the meeting were draft Quality Assurance Guidance document and Quality Assurance Tool developed, which can be used and adapted by the SAIs to conduct quality assurance review of financial audit conducted in accordance with ISSAIs.
